Here is Basic Protective Measures Against COVID-19 on Public Transport

The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) has the best way to prevent transmission of the novel coronavirus on public transportation.

The driver is advised to use a mask and always carry antiseptic fluid

"We instruct public transportation service providers do intensive and periodic cleaning of public vehicles and bus stops/stations. While regular and online taxis operators must do it regularly every day," said Jakarta Transportation Agency Head, Syafrin Liputo, Wednesday (3/4).

They are also instructed to provide hand sanitizer and socialize public transport crews for a response call 112 or 119 if there are passengers indicated COVID-19.

"The driver is advised to use a mask and always carry antiseptic fluid. If the virus is detected, please don't panic or soon call 11 or 119, we will pick up them at the location," he stressed.

Here is what you can do:

1. Wet hands with clean running water or hand sanitizer after touching handgrip, money, escalator, etc

2. Wear gloves if needed

3. Use tissue to wipe or want to touch the face. Avoid touching your face if you have not washed your hands

4. Don't use a mask if not being ill
